Big Apple Softball League & the Playing for Life VIII Planning Committee |
The Big Apple Softball League is a non-profit adult community based sports organization, created to support the bonds of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) fellowship to play softball in a safe environment of friendly competition, free of discrimination on the basis of age, race, creed, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or playing ability.
The Playing for Life VIII softball tournament is an annual charity tournament whose games are held in New York City's historic Central Park. This Labor Day weekend, New York City will be commemorating the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and, appropriately, the beneficiary for PFL VII will be a local GLBT youth organization in memory of a BASL member whose life was ended prematurely as a result of the attacks on that date. |
